Britain
to host the 2012 Summer Olympics. The current $15 billion estimated
cost .The 26 sports of the
London Olympics will take place in 28 venues A large
majority of the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games will be held in the
Old Park in Stratford in East London. Events will also be held in
other venues across London and the UK (England, Scotland and Wales).
2012 Summer Olympics is nearly $10 billion more than its original
bid. It is not the first time Britain has struggled financially to
make the Olympics a reality--war-torn London hosted the 1948
Olympics--and with a stagnant economy and the highest unemployment in
17 years.
